1. Overview

OJOBIT News does not sell personal data. We may serve contextual display ads on repeat story reads, but we do not build cross-context advertising profiles. Our revenue model combines voluntary subscriptions and lightweight advertising.

This Privacy Policy explains what information OJOBIT News collects when you visit news.ojobit.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

Your use of the site is also governed by the Terms of Service.

2. Who We Are

OJOBIT News is a technology and science news publication operated by OJOBIT R&D, a deep-tech research and engineering studio. References to "we," "us," or "our" refer to OJOBIT R&D as the data controller.

3. Data We Collect

Information you provide

Account registration details, subscription and billing confirmations, submitted stories or comments, and messages you send by email or support forms.

Information collected automatically

Log data, browser and device type, pages viewed, timestamps, referral information, site search queries, and article engagement signals. IP addresses are used for security and abuse prevention and are truncated or aggregated where practical.

Information from third parties

If you sign in through an OAuth provider, we receive the profile information permitted by that provider. Analytics providers may return aggregated reporting signals.

4. How We Use Data

We use data to operate the site, authenticate users, deliver subscriptions, send transactional emails, send newsletters when you opt in, measure aggregate performance, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication, CSRF protection, session management, subscriber access, and local story-visit state used to keep first reads clean. Optional analytics and contextual ad cookies help us understand aggregate page views, referral sources, article engagement, and ad delivery after consent where required.

OJOBIT News does not use retargeting pixels or cross-site advertising profiles. Third-party ad partners may process limited ad-delivery signals when contextual ads are enabled.

6. Third-Party Data Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the site: infrastructure and CDN providers, payment processors, email delivery providers, analytics tooling, contextual ad partners, and legal or safety recipients when required by law.

Articles link to external sources with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for those external data practices.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account remains active and deleted within 90 days of closure upon request, subject to legal obligations. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days, payment records for up to 7 years, newsletter subscriptions until unsubscribe or deletion, and submitted content may remain in anonymized form to preserve discussion integrity.

8. Your Rights

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal retention duties.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.
  • Request a portable copy of eligible account data.

California residents may request to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise privacy rights, contact [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request."

9. Children's Privacy

OJOBIT News is not directed at children under 13, or 16 in the EEA and UK. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Security

We use TLS, hashed credentials, access controls, and regular review of security and processor practices. No system is completely secure; if a breach creates a legal notification duty, we will notify affected users and authorities as required.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will update the effective date and may be announced on the site or by email when appropriate.
